The design blog Speak Up runs a monthly project calling for designs based on single word themes (called Word It’s), the only contraint is that the the design (or illustration, or photograph etc.) must fit into a 6 inch by 6 inch square.

In 2007 they published a collection of select submissions and themes.

One of my submissions, based on the theme of ‘saturation’, was included. I represented the theme by presenting a public domain diagram of the saturated hydrocarbon methane. I also contributed a small explanation of my design process and inspiration to the book.
